    Eileen Davies is a spiritual medium and teacher. She is widely regarded as an exceptional medium, known for the clarity and detail of her evidence, and for the depth of her trance mediumship. She has worked as a medium for over 40 years. She has been a Tutor and Course Organiser at the Arthur Findlay College (opens in a new tab) for over 35 years, and is Principal of the Summerland Trust in Aberdeen.

    Eileen does not offer private sittings due to her work commitments. Her work is teaching: the School of Mediumship, the Mediumship with Meaning mentorship and Sitting in the Power. Sitting in the Power is free on Zoom, and it is the place to start.

    My Spiritual Journey

    My spiritual journey began in childhood, where I frequently kept the company of spirit children who were more real to me than those in the material world. I developed a great love of metaphysical poetry from an early age—a passion that continues to inspire my work today.

    My first introduction to Spiritualism came at age 19 when I entered a Spiritualist church in Aberdeen. The medium that evening was none other than the great Gordon Higginson. What I experienced during that demonstration changed the course and direction of my life, marking the crossing of a spiritual threshold.

    Early in my journey I was encouraged by Gordon Higginson, and I have been blessed with the close friendship of Eric and Heather Hatton. Clark Findlay, nephew of Arthur Findlay, became my healing mentor. I count myself fortunate to have known and been touched by the lives of such remarkable people.

    Through over 40 years of dedicated service, I have learned that mediumistic powers are not so much developed as they are revealed when we recognise our true nature as spiritual beings. I have been privileged to share this understanding through my teaching and through my book Mediumship: Touching the Stars.

    Questions about mediumship

    Can anyone develop mediumistic abilities?

    The answer lies in the realisation that it is important to first know yourself and to recognise the spirit as our true self which is eternal. Because our essential nature is spirit, it is within everyone's capacity to communicate but "with some people the ability is simply nearer the surface than others" - Gladys Osborne Leonard.

    Learning the mental discipline of meditation, understanding the significance of the power and how it may be developed is all very relevant to the development of mediumistic abilities.

    To comprehend what real prayer is, as a moving of one's inner self to union with the divine and liberate the inner voice of the eternal. To do this, creates a power and cultivates a deep abiding presence. As true spiritual mediumship cannot be manufactured but revealed!

    What is the purpose of mediumship?

    The purpose of mediumship is to prove the continuity of the human spirit; to reveal the truth that death is not the end. The ability to communicate is an inherent natural faculty available to all. Irrespective of belief or religious background it speaks in a universal language of love, that we are all one.

    Mediumistic communication meets a need of both those in the spirit world and those still here, as a medium may provide an opportunity to express thoughts and feelings sometimes left unsaid to bring the soothing balm of comfort and the gift of hope. Often those in the spirit world on realising they are still very much alive, have an innate desire to communicate to their loved ones to let them know they have not died. That they are still themselves; thinking, feeling and loving us still, just the way they always did when they were physically present. Death cannot destroy that which never dies.

    A medium is a bridge between heaven and earth, a human telephone uniting those who love together once more.
